Tom Bates

Initially elected to the office of Mayor in 2002, he was elected to a special two year term in November 2006. On December 13, 2006, he was appointed to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) by the Alameda County Conference of Mayors at their December meeting. Mayor Bates will represent Alameda County cities beginning in February 2007.
